My experience in Brooklyn was amazing in a sense that God moved through the streets of Brooklyn using 13 young people who were ready and willing to be used by God. Right from the start it was constant evangelism, and constant soul winning which was intense to see the hurt of the people in Brooklyn and the surrounding cities. Just interacting with the people and getting exposed to the culture was a blessing and really allowed me to get a feel for the streets, drug addicts, and the gang members. Through this experience I really received a new revelation of how God moves through peoples’ lives, realizing of how much power our testimonies carry of what God has done in each and every one of our lives. Within each of us who received salvation, we carry in us the hope for the hopeless, the comfort for those who mourn, and the answer to those that have questions, and it was a privilege to be the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus Christ in the streets of Brooklyn. I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend a weekend in Brooklyn than by telling others about the love of Jesus Christ and help comfort others with that same comfort we were comforted with. Overall the experience was great the Brooklyn church offered great hospitality and going out with the youth to hit the streets was fun and that’s what its’ all about having fun while doing the work of the Lord.

Revolution unleashed was a fantastic and refreshing experience for me. It was a great way to prepare me for the leadership within the G.A.N.G that I will face when I go back home. Being within the U.T.C you get exposed to alot of crusading, ministries and business within the house, so getting away to a hotel in Milford for a weekend was a great refreshment. Although the weekend away was nice the best part of my experience was seeing the spark getting lit within the lives and hearts of the young people within Bridgeport.

Being in the U.T.C we have the opportunity to connect with the G.A.N.G when we go to the youth services and when they stop by the house, but a whole weekend with them really exposed me to the need within this city.Talking to the guys’ one on one and in small groups really touched me to see what they have been through and what is taking place on the streets of Bridgeport and the surrounding cities. I will remember one night I stood up with two of the guys talking, just sharing my life experiences and sharing the word of God with them and specific stories from the Bible that could relate to their situations. Some were coming to the G.A.N.G for their first time while others have been coming faithfully for years. The whole experience just really gave me a special burden for young people, but the bottom line is a new fire and passion is being instilled within the young people of Bridgeport and I anticipate great things to take place very soon within the V.O. CONN. G.A.N.G.

I Know Who I Am

My first subway crusade was crazy! I’ve never been on a crusade so going into it I didn’t know what to expect. And just to add some thrill to it, we just so happened to go to New York. New York man! That really had me on a thrill ride. I’ve watched tons of movies that show New York, but actually being there was completely different. It really was a new experience for me. In movies they show people from New York being really nice and friendly, but being there showed me that New York really does need Jesus. Some of the people that were in the subways passed us by as we tried to give them flyers, or they rejected us. Some people even shouted at us and told us to be quiet. Other people stared at us as we stood there worshiping God. Some laughed at us, and others tried kicking us out, but that didn’t stop us. We made sure New York knew that Jesus loves them and that he has a plan for each and every one of them. They may not have wanted to hear it, but we let them know anyways. There were some people that applauded us for doing what we were doing, they said that what we were doing was exactly what New York needed. It was really encouraging to hear, because we knew that we were in the right place at the right time. It was truly a divine appointment for us. And man, I have never handed out so many flyers. Throughout those three days we had to have handed out about ten thousand flyers. It was so humbling, but rewarding to see souls get saved. I even had the chance to testify on the subway. I’m a quiet person and most of the time I just keep to myself, but throughout the crusade I let go, and really let God take control. And as a result through my testimony people got touched. See what happens when you let go and let God! That alone showed me that there’s power in His name. There’s power in love. There’s power in unity. There’s power in the name above all names. There is power in the name of Jesus! And we, the East Coast UTC took the power that Jesus has given us and took a fresh fire to New York City!
